“There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs.”
– Ansel Adams
CHRIS GALE. IMPERFECT PHOTOGRAPHER.
All photography is about manipulating of light against something. It may be the landscape: it may be something far less static such as a busy street, and without that light the same scene may look flat, boring, and without any beauty.
My photos are about chasing light: at times in mist, in lousy weather. At times on the street, when travelling, or finding old, abandoned buildings or alleys.
I am fortunate that I live in a place which is beautiful. At times the images here are not of that beauty, but the infrastructure around it.
At times they are of animals or birds. At times, crowds.
What is not here is portraits, still life, or products.
Some photography is about perfection of that image. This is not one of those sites. My photos are not that processed, not that perfect.
This is one of my hobbies, and I am showing the images that I still see as striking.
